Dean R. LeBoeuf, the managing partner of the firm, currently limits his practice to complex personal injury civil litigation, including motor vehicle negligence, medical malpractice and nursing home neglect and abuse cases. Mr. LeBoeuf is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest lawyer rating available based upon confidential reviews by local lawyers and judges.

Mr. LeBoeuf and the firm are also actively involved in criminal defense litigation. For several years, he served as a statewide elected representative for the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and he has handled several high profile cases throughout the State of Florida.

Mr. LeBoeuf is a 1978 honors graduate from Florida State University where he obtained a degree in political science with minors in economics and accounting. Mr. LeBoeuf continued his education at Florida State University College of Law and obtained his law degree in 1981. Following graduation, he entered private practice with the firm of Brooks, Callahan and Phillips and ultimately became the managing partner of Brooks & LeBoeuf in January of 1987. Since that time, Mr. LeBoeuf has directed the firm's continuous growth and operation.

Areas of Practice:

Personal Injury/Civil: car accident; nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, wrongful death throughout Florida and Georgia.

Criminal Defense: Private representation of individuals in state court prosecutions. The firm has extensive experience in DUI defense, drug defense, grand theft, embezzlement and fraud cases.

Commercial Litigation: Representation of mental health associations and landlords in landlord/tenant disputes or evictions.

Community Involvement/Awards/Publications:

Mr. LeBoeuf has been named by Florida Trend magazine as one Florida's Legal Elite (among the top 1.8 percent of attorneys in the state of Florida).

Law & Politics magazine also repeatedly recognized him as a Super Lawyer among the top five percent of attorneys in the state, using peer review balloting and a blue ribbon panel as its' selection process.

He was recently honored as the 2006 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates - Tallahassee Chapter. The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) was founded in 1957 with the primary purpose being the preservation of the civil jury trial system. 

Mr. LeBoeuf has also received national recognition in connection with several high profile cases he has handled throughout his career. Mr. LeBoeuf has represented the rights of a mentally retarded woman who was sexually abused. He successfully represented the interest of a college fraternity rape victim and defended the rights of a young woman who was wrongfully exploited in the media. Additionally he has successfully defended politicians, law enforcement officers and celebrities. 

Mr. LeBoeuf has authored several articles for the Florida Bar and has lectured extensively in civil litigation and trial practice. He is admitted to practice in federal court and all state courts in Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bar, and served as President of the Tallahassee Bar Association in 2003-2004. He is a very active member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (Eagle Benefactor), and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He was appointed to the Second Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee and has served as the Chairman of the Leon County Bench Bar Committee. He has served on several professional and community boards of directors, including the Bond Community Health Center, Community Christian School, Pembridge Place Homeowners Association and the Florida Bar Grievance Committee.

Mr. LeBoeuf and his wife, Carolyn, have two adult children. They enjoy travel, skiing, diving and the beach.
